Dr. Kelly Kazukauskas, Ph.D., LCPC, CRC, CVE

     Dr. Kazukauskas' areas of expetise include: Depression; Anxiety; Life Transitions and Adjustment; Disability, Injury and Illness-related Issues (Brian Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Developmental Disability, Psychiatric Disability, etc.); Sports-related Injury/Adjustment; Sports Counseling and Mental Coaching; Vocational Counseling; Parenting and Family Issues; Adolescents and Adults; Couples and Families

   Dr. Kazukauskas is a licensed clinical professional counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor and certified vocational evaluator with specialization in serving persons and families who have been impacted by mental and/or physical disability and chronic illness. She has over 15 years of experience in mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, and disability adjustment, including the implementation of therapeutic and behavioral interventions for adults with traumatic and developmental disabilities. Dr. Kazukauskas has a Ph.D. in counselor education and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Illinois Institute of Technology, where she is also currently on the faculty in the Department of Counseling and Rehabilitation Science. She teaches graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Counseling Theory, Clinical Counseling Skills, Ethics and Professional Issues, Practicum and Internship.

   Dr. Kazukauskas believes that counseling provides the opportunity for growth and self-discovery in the context of a safe, supportive, and therapeutic relationship. Her goal is to work collaboratively with clients, in order to assist them in increasing their self-awareness and developing a more positive sense of self. Dr. Kazukauskas is committed to empowering clients to make life choices according to their own beliefs and values, and to live personally fulfilling lives. She believes in a holistic approach to mental health and wellness, and endeavors to assist clients in achieving their personal goals through increased mindfulness, intentional living and acceptance of self.
